Where Are We?

KAIROS PRISON MINISTRY – DAVID WADE ADVISORY COUNCIL

WHERE WE ARE – February, 2026

After more than five years of praying, watching, and waiting, the David Wade Advisory Council has o re-entered David Wade Correctional Center to participate in Continuing Ministry.  On Saturday, March 22, 2025, seven Kairos volunteers met with twenty-eight residents in the Chapel at David Wade Correctional Center near Homer, Louisiana, for a Kairos Reunion.  For three hours, the gathered brothers in Christ sang songs, shared in small groups using the Kairos grouping questions and prayed together.  It was a welcome and blessed time for all.

The David Wade Advisory Council is hoping and praying that the Kairos Reunions will continue every other month. Finally, permission has been granted for a full three and one-half day Kairos weekend for new participants at David Wade. Kairos #45 will take place September 17 – 20, 2026!

In order to participate in the Reunions or serve on a weekend team, each Kairos volunteer must complete the State of Louisiana Department of Corrections Volunteer online training, obtain a Certificate of Completion, and then pass a criminal background check.  After successfully completing all requirements, Kairos volunteers receive clearance to enter David Wade Correctional Center for one-day reunions or a full Kairos weekend.

To join us in this wonderful ministry, see “The Next Kairos Weekend” page for more information and a team application.
