Not everyone is called to go into prison to serve our Lord, but those who do find it incredibly rewarding. Our service reaches into David Wade Correctional Center, a medium/maximum security facility located near Homer, La. Our support operation is centered at First United Methodist Church in Homer. Without this congregation’s gracious help and generous support these weekends could not take place.
A Kairos team comprises two equally important sub-teams—the part that goes inside the prison, and the part that handles all weekend logistics, including meal preparation, delivering supplies needed for the weekend, and prayer support for each speaker on the inside team. Only men serve inside the prison, but both men and women may serve and are needed on the support team.
